Hey guys!
What an incredible week. Finally stepping foot in the building that we have prayed and worked for over two years to get was surreal. I walked in and felt an overwhelming sense of gratitude. I started to think of the thousands of people who will find community, love, and the unconditional love of Jesus in our new location and I was emotional.
I was emotional for two reasons:

  1. I never realized how bad I looked in a hard hat.
  2. I saw that God is and has been in control the entire time, and He has chosen this as the perfect time for this move. How exciting that we will be able to look back at this moment 20 years from now and say, “I was there when….”

My excitement is even more when I see the series that we are in (Social Reset) and I see the vision of meaningful community and conversation reaching a city that is hurting and isolating. This week we will be continuing in our relationship series and talking about MARRIAGE. Before you tune out or schedule a root canal so you don’t have to hear about what a terrible spouse you are, let me propose that this will be a different take on marriage than you’ve ever heard before. God doesn’t want you to feel defeated. God wants what you want…to have better more intimate relationships.

See you guys this Sunday!

Freedom: Message Series

oh-freedom-compass

freedom: the state of not being imprisoned or enslaved

Freedom is something we all want, yet find ourselves in a constant struggle to find. And in our efforts to achieve this, we often find ourselves lost, discouraged, and sometimes even more “trapped” than we started off. God desires for us to be free. Join us as we spend the next several weeks looking into ways God calls us into freedom.

FREEDOM

Four months ago you gave towards our Outreach Ministry at the church. You were incredibly generous with your time and money. Over the past four months we have given to: military families, local single teenage moms, 30,000 meals towards hunger relief around the world, and food for the local homeless community, just to name a few.

This Saturday, 30 people are going down to Mexico to change the lives of families there. We will be helping two families move from a tin and cardboard home, sitting on dirt and mud, into a home with a concrete foundation, wood and drywall painted walls, a shingled roof over their heads and electricity. And, they will be connected with the local Church in the area, so they will have on-going care for months and years to come.

We are in a series called Freedom. Freedom comes when people experience love, hope and Jesus in life changing ways. You are helping people experience the freedom that comes from following Jesus. Way to go! And what do we get in return? We get the realization that nothing is more freeing than giving and serving.

See you Sunday, as we continue our series. I’m excited about all that God is doing at our church.  You are difference makers.

Blessings,

Jeff

February feels so good! It’s the month of love… the Super Bowl… and the movie theater is ours!

Construction begins this week in our next ministry space–the former Regency movie theater. Pray with us. Continue contributing, financially, to the build-out. And look for opportunities to join in the fun.

“Bless the Build-out”: Friday evening, 6-7p we’ll be inside the theater to pray God’s blessing on the construction project. This is a fun opportunity to see the space, gather together, pray for God’s favor, and have a meal at one of the local restaurants afterward.

Sunday: Another great 60 minutes together that will set the course of your week, and help you hear from God. We continue our series, Social Reset, talking about relationships that affect us all. And I’ve invited more VIPs to join me on stage for part of my message. Don’t miss this! Bring a friend. Come on time. (Scoot to the center:)) A friendly reminder to enter the parking lot off of Talbert this week as the Surf City Marathon will close the Golden West entrance.

See you soon…

Caleb
