High School students are invited to join us for our “Trick or Can” Halloween Party where we’ll be going door-to-door in Halloween costumes asking for canned food items to support our local food bank.
Then, we’ll hang out for games, music, costume contest, swimming, food, candy, and more!

Wow. Last Sunday was crazy……powerful……special. God moved. And many of you are beginning to move, too! And we’re just getting started. Join us this Sunday as we continue the journey. And don’t forget: pumpkins, pancakes, and a something I think will be really, really FUNNY.
Invites went out THIS WEEK to many of your friends, neighbors, co-workers, coaches, teachers… So NOW is another great time to extend a follow-up, personal invitation. (I’m hoping to see the server from a restaurant that Hilary and I just went to.)

I remember waking up the middle of the night in high school with growing pains – not Kirk Cameron’s show – but the agonizing calf-cramps that accompany a growth spurt. My calves would seize and I’d shoot up in bed with a screech – not the guy from Saved By the Bell – but the loud, unplanned noise that comes from shocking pain.
Any time a church grows as quickly as we have, there are growing pains. We’ve doubled in size and we’ve double our services. That is INCREDIBLE! It’s not normal. God is up to something.
But, what’s clear, is that WE NEED YOU! We’re in this together.
I hope to see you TONIGHT for our Volunteer Night – 6pm at the Mariners HB offices (2124 Main St #260). Tonight is a great night to meet more people, plug into places to serve, and get a glimpse of the future of volunteering at Mariners HB. (rain or shine)
**Also, make sure you bring a friend this Sunday. The Outreach Team has done amazing work. This will be a special weekend.

I led our Rooted Group last night and we didn’t use the fan. In fact, my wife, Hilary, even put a blanket on her lap. That’s AMAZING! Could it be that the fire of summer 2012 is subsiding and we’re tipping toward fall?

WHAT AN AMAZING WEEK! Our Grand Opening exceeded all our expectations. We met a lot of new people and our faithful community served in huge ways. It’s clearly a new day at Mariners Church Huntington Beach! Thank you to those of you who joined us. We are SO EXCITED about our church and about what God is doing.
Here’s more good news: This week will be just as exciting. I have a message I’m inspired to share with you as we continue to talk about who we are–as individuals, and collectively–and how God has a mission for our lives.

I’m so excited about this weekend! Sunday we go to two services: 9am and 11am at the HB Central Library Theater. Over the summer, we’ve seen our weekend attendance grow to filling our theater at 75% capacity. Any time you get around 80%, people start to feel like the building is full. So….we’re going to two services to create more space. We believe that we’re entering into a growth season at our church. This is going to be a fun ride!
To celebrate the change, we’ll have tacos and a bounce house after both services. Come play!
Also, many of your friends and neighbors have received an invite to our Grand Opening in the mail this week. Now would be a great time to follow up with a personal invitation.
These next few weeks we’ll be talking about who we are as a church–what our vision is and where we believe we’re going.
