This past weekend, I had the privilege of being with nearly 400 Men of Mariners at Man Camp up in the mountains. Not only did we eat, laugh, and compete as you would expect, but I was blown away how everyone leaned into God, inviting Him to speak and lead. Together, we unpacked our church verse…

No eye has seen, no ear has heard and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love Him.
1 Corinthians 2:9

It was beautiful seeing the men of our church taking seriously His invitation to reshape their identity as His kids, knowing and believing that He has prepared good things for them. We worshiped and sang at the top of our lungs. We took time to pray for one another and we responded courageously to God’s invitation to say, “I Believe!” Many men were baptized as a public expression of their trust and faith in Jesus. I believe the ripple effects of this weekend will continue throughout our families, our workplaces, and Orange County as we courageously become who God calls us to be as His followers.

Last weekend, we launched our new series in the Book of James: Faith in Action and considered how joy can be built through endurance and testing. This week, we’ll continue looking at what the younger brother of Jesus wants to teach us surrounding temptation. Have you ever considered the difference between trials and temptations? Is there a difference? What is the point of a temptation, anyway? And, how can we withstand it and choose to move away from what seems impossible and move toward who God created us to be as His kids? Invite your friends and family to join us as we pursue Jesus together in community.

Looking forward to being with you all!

Peace…

Kyle

One of the greatest joys and privileges of my life is to see and experience life transformation. Wednesday night was beautiful as hundreds of us gathered in the Worship Center for a night of worship and healing prayer with Mike Pilavachi.

What an amazing evening as we worshiped in freedom, remembering who God is together, being anchored in the truth of His Word, and responding to the love, grace and redemption found in Jesus. It was so encouraging to see people step forward in humility and faith, trusting and acknowledging that Jesus loves us so much and desires to heal, restore our joy of relationship with Him, and bring life and hope to our darkest places. It was such a powerful night and in the midst of it all, I was reminded that this is God’s heart for us every time we gather in His name. It gives me so much anticipation as I look forward to this weekend knowing we get to come together again in the name of Jesus, acknowledging who He is, and believing that He wants to restore and redeem.

I’m excited to start our new series in the Book of James. As Jesus’ younger, half-brother, I can only imagine what James’ perspective of Jesus must have been like. (talk about sibling rivalry:) What did he think about having Jesus as an older brother? What did it take for him to believe that Jesus truly was the Son of God? James is going to walk us through what it looks like to live a profound life of faith, walking in the full, abundant life that can only be found through a relationship with Jesus.

This is a perfect weekend to invite friends and family who want to learn more about who Jesus truly is and who He calls us to be as His followers. Invite a friend and we’ll see you this weekend!

Peace,

Kyle

Last Sunday, I had the privilege of speaking to our high school students during their weekend service. I was so encouraged after seeing and experiencing first-hand what our students get to experience every single week – joyful energy, relationship, honesty, freedom – all the things that are found in Jesus and His Church! I loved the welcoming environment and intentionality of helping each student be seen and known. I’m thrilled as we continue to become more of who God calls us to be as an intergenerational and intercultural church in Orange County.

This weekend, we’re concluding our series, Things I Wish Jesus Never Said. I’m looking forward to sharing a radical, challenging idea with you that also comes with one of the greatest promises in the entire Bible! You do not want to miss this! I love that it’s a holiday weekend which means it’s a great weekend to invite friends and family who are in town for a visit. Take the courageous step of inviting someone to the service with you, so they can experience the depth, truth and the hope that is found in a relationship with Jesus and His Church.

Can’t wait to see you and be with you all this weekend!

Peace,

Kyle
