I love our church…
One week ago today, I returned from Kenya with a team from our church. Since then God has continually reminded me what a privilege it is to be a part of His Church right here in Orange County. I love that we were able to share some snapshots of our trip last weekend, doing our best to capture the essence of how generous God is with limited words. He transforms us as individuals when we trust our lives to Him and He leverages our gifts together in community to bring about change in the hearts of people around us and around the world.
Throughout the last week, I have loved seeing kids gather on our campus for fun activities, including a water day! I was so encouraged as we gathered in community together last night for a time of worship with Martin Smith to aim our hearts at the joy and freedom found in a journey with Jesus. I saw so many find healing and rest in worshiping Jesus together. I’m looking forward to being with you all at the Angel game tomorrow night, enjoying life and laughing with one another – connecting with old friends and meeting new ones. I love seeing our church put the Gospel on display relationally each weekend, particularly on Saturday nights, as we hang out with one another, listen to music, share a meal, and engage in conversations that encourage and shape our lives. Keep taking the time to create space to connect with God and one another as we move through the summer, and continue to invite your friends and family to join you on the journey…the Church is beautiful!
Peace…
“God doesn’t bring you half-way around the world to have you come home the same way.” If you’ve been anywhere on a faith adventure with Mariners Church, chances are you’re familiar with that quote…and it’s always true. We’re on our way home from Kenya after laughing, crying, praying and seeing God stir powerfully in ways that will move our lives and our church forward. We can’t wait to share the stories with you all. Don’t miss this weekend as Kenton returns and offers a glimpse into some of what God did on the faith adventure and what He is doing in our church.
Summer provides a great opportunity to change our life rhythms and invest in one another differently. I love that so many of you are choosing the Saturday night service to celebrate and remember Jesus together, and then staying to connect over a meal and music. If sports is a more comfortable way for you to connect and meet people, we’ve got that too. Join us for the Angels game on Friday night, July 19. It’s going to be a great time with lots of fun people.
I invite you to take advantage of this season, (through these and other upcoming opportunities), to develop the relationships that God designed for each of us.
peace

I have the privilege of writing to you this week from Kenya! I’m here with Kenton and a team from Mariners participating with Mavuno, our sister church, in their leadership conference, Fearless. Kenton is speaking and encouraging leaders from all over Africa and around the world. Caleb will be leading worship later this week, and all of us are getting to experience the global church in action, bringing the hope of the gospel to some of the most desperate places in Kenya. Please be praying for us – that God will use us to encourage His Church, and the people of this country to become all He designed and created them to be.
Wasn’t last weekend amazing as we celebrated, and even experienced VBS together?! I love how God has called us to reach OC with the love of Jesus. This weekend is another great opportunity to bring family and friends as we move toward becoming an unstoppable community. We’ll continue in our Bible series looking at some of the most profound stories in God’s Word, and the lessons that shape our lives. Don’t forget our Summer Saturday Nights where we share food, fun, and great music this week from the Pawnshop Kings!
Enjoy the gift of relationship with Jesus and one another. I can’t wait to tell you the stories from Kenya and hear about how God is changing and shaping you…
Peace,
kyle

VBS is unbelievable!
They say a picture is worth a thousand words but in this case, I don’t think it even comes close to the power of what’s taking place on our campus this week: Over 1200 volunteers (including hundreds of students) gathering each morning to focus their hearts and attention on Jesus as they serve over 2300 kids; large group gatherings with singing, worship, and creative storytelling offering space to celebrate and respond to God’s love; recreational time building relationship and trust with one another; and missions, where kids are cultivating a heart for the poor and needy. Lastly, we can’t forget the 395 kids who responded to the love of God and said, “I Believe,” trusting their lives to Jesus for the very first time. The gospel is on display and The Kingdom is advancing in a powerful way this week in Orange County through Mariners Church. Your hearts of generosity are what makes this possible all year long!
This weekend, will be celebrating all that God has done this week through VBS, and our lives, as we continue in our Bible series. We’ll be looking for some valuable lessons from one of the greatest characters and leaders in the Bible – Moses. Bring your friends and family to see the beauty and hope of a life with Jesus, on display this weekend…it’s going to be great!
Peace…
