Lost sons…which one were you? Have you been able to embrace the idea that there is a loving Father who runs to you, throws a party and wants you to join; a father who desires to be in relationship with you above all else? What a great reminder that was last weekend of who God is and how we are called to live in freedom as His children.

Speaking of freedom – Memorial Day weekend is fast approaching and we are going to have a great weekend together at Mariners. We’ll be honoring and remembering those that have given their lives for this country.

Pastor Linda from our church partner in Kenya, Mavuno Church, is here and will be speaking in the Chapel at 9 & 11a (did you know we have services in the Chapel every Sunday at 9 & 11a, in addition to the Sunday night chapel service at 7p?). I’ll be continuing in our Christian? series answering the question, “If we are disciples, followers of Jesus marked by the defining quality of Love, what are the exceptions? Are there any?”

I’ve enjoyed getting to meet so many of your friends and family on the patio these past few weeks – bring the crew this weekend and we’ll celebrate all that God is doing in us and through us as we fearlessly change the world together.

Peace…

A Note From Kyle

Have you been experiencing the fullness of grace and truth expressed in a relationship with Jesus? Has that been overflowing out of your life this week into your conversations and relationships with family, friends, your work place, or at school? What a great weekend we had remembering the gift of Jesus and celebrating moms together. I loved meeting your moms on the patio, and moms, I loved meeting your kids and families. It was such a great celebration of the gift of women in our lives and the spiritual weight they hold with truth and grace.

I know for many of you the 11a service posed some parking and traffic flow challenges. I want to let you know we’re aware of this issue and we’re working hard to make this process run more smoothly in the future. I love seeing you and meeting your family and friends every weekend, and want to encourage you to join us at our 5pm Saturday night service, or our earlier Sunday morning service at 9a. Those weekend experiences offer more room (and parking  😀 ) and also frees up space during the 11a service for new people visiting our church for the first time.

I can’t wait for this weekend as we continue our Christian? series. Kenton will be back teaching and inviting us to consider our view of God and how that impacts us as individuals and the way we relate to Him. This is such a great series for those of us who are following Jesus to remember who we are and what God is calling us to, as well as for our friends and family who have questions about what it means to be a passionate follower of Jesus.

Join us this weekend, can’t wait to see you guys.

“It’s always appropriate to love, never appropriate to condemn, sometimes appropriate to confront…” Hopefully that has been stirring in your soul this week as we live our lives out as true disciples of Jesus. I love this series and how it’s challenging and inviting all of us to become who we’re called to be.

This Sunday is MOM’S DAY, I’m so excited to gather as a church to celebrate and honor the gift of moms. We’re going to have music, story telling and prayers of blessing for all of our moms. Make sure you invite your mom, your friends’ and your neighbor’s moms to join us as we love them together.

Can’t wait to see and be with you all.

peace

A Note From Kyle

Last weekend, I was at the Men’s Retreat where generations of men stood side by side challenging and encouraging each other to become all that God created them to be: followers of Jesus, husbands, fathers, and men of God. I was so encouraged to see this great partnership of generations unfolding in and through our church community.

Speaking of multigenerational, I heard the weekend service was powerful and profound. Student Ministries led us in worship, reminding us of Who God is, and offering a glimpse into our future. It’s so exciting to be able to bless and hand over His gospel message of love and hope to the next generation of Jesus followers, and courageous leaders in this county. What a great story God is writing here in Orange County that we get to be a part of!

I’m looking forward to this weekend. Kenton will be back teaching in our Christian? Series, inviting us all to become who God created us to be.

I love being on this journey with you and look forward to seeing you, your family and friends.

peace,

kyle
