A Note From Jeff Pries
Thank you so much for your participation in Celebrate Different. Your generosity was amazing, and you are making a difference in the lives of people in our community. We had a great Thanksgiving service where we got to hear stories of all the different ways people are thankful. This weekend we will continue our series in Luke, making our way to the Birth of Jesus.
On Sunday evening we will have our 1st Annual Tree Lighting. It will be a fun time of celebration, games, singing, and snow for the kids. Please mark your calendar with the times of our Christmas Eve Service (3 & 5p). It will be a celebration you won’t want to miss. As always, everything we do is designed not only to be a blessing to our church, but also to be an opportunity for you to invite your friends.
Blessings,
Jeff

Hopefully for you it has been a week of gratitude, and like we talked about this weekend, you’ve had the opportunity to “be the one.” We had a great time Wednesday night in the Chapel in an intimate setting sharing all that we are thankful for. It was a time of sharing and being a family together. We have a lot of exciting activities planned for the Christmas season. The Tree Lighting will be something you won’t want to miss. It will be a fun night of singing, and contests…and food…and, we are bringing in real snow! And of course we will be lighting the tree and celebrating Jesus’ birth. For Christmas Eve, we have a very special night planned. We want to help you celebrate this season in a compelling and powerful way, and part of that is experiencing Christmas with your church family as well as your community. That said, think of these events with your friends and neighbors in mind.
You may have noticed a little construction by the office building, we are putting in a baptism. It is going to become a great part of the church, a place where we can experience life-change and celebration. If you haven’t been baptized, now is the time to start thinking about it. As we go into this season, I am thankful for you. I love walking through life together; growing closer to each other and to God.
Blessings,
Jeff

Wow, what a great Sunday we had this past weekend! Your generosity was overwhelming; we handed out 195 food bags and saw 178 returned – completely full! That is almost double our goal for Thanksgiving, and of course, the turkeys keep coming in (insert joke here).
We will be giving out almost 200 dinners this Saturday as a way to help meet the needs of our community. Way to go! As part of Celebrate Different, we will continue to have opportunities this season where we get to give back and bless others. What a blessing it is to be part of a great, vibrant church that is focusing on growing closer to Jesus and each other, while making a difference in our community at the same time. As you can see below, there is a lot going on at Mariners Church Ocean Hills. So, invite a friend to and jump into this great adventure God has for us.
Blessings,
Jeff
