Is there a television show that you are focused on? Something you’re addicted to, or just “find compelling?” 24 perhaps? So You Think You Can Dance?

Sunday, I’m going to continue the ongoing drama that is the ministry of Jesus. It’s ramping up… New characters will be introduced… New challenges made… Minds blown.

Don’t forget to check the summer calendar for upcoming events.

Parents of students, remember to join me for 10 minutes following each service in the overflow room. I look forward to sharing fresh excitement and vision with you on Sunday.

This is going to be a great summer! (For different reasons than what you wrote in your high school yearbook).

I’ve been reminded this week that even though the sun is warm and the earth is spinning, many of us are in difficult seasons of life. For you, or for someone you care about, this is a tough week. And I want you to know that you’re not alone. And I hope that you tell the struggling person you care about that they are not alone either. We need each other. Even if you don’t know what to say… just show up. Even if you’re not sure you can relate… just be caring. And if there’s anything we—as a church—should be aware of, please let us know.

Sunday: I’ll be sharing a biblical concept with you that you probably haven’t considered lately—if ever. It will be another great weekend, so don’t miss it.

Parents of Jr/Sr High School students: I want to meet with you for 10 minutes following each service NEXT Sunday (June 8), so please pencil that in.

Peace to you,

Caleb

Cash Mob

We wanna’ be a church known for being IN and ABOUT our community! One way we do that is through CASH MOB! We want as many people as possible from our church to swarm a locally-owned business and show that we support them!! Let’s meet at AOSA Coffee on June 1st at 1 p and show the community we care. There are great places around this coffee shop for lunch as well! Contact Scott Snedeker for details.

Good News… The HB Library Theater has air conditioning!! So get out of your melting house for an hour and join us for church—8:30, 10:00, 11:30am.

This will be a special Sunday. We have a musical guest that you won’t want to miss… and I have a message that I’m really excited to give.

Adjust your plans, set your DVRs, delay your beach outing and be there Sunday!

In unrelated news—and just for fun—here are 5 lessons I’m learning from Jimmy Fallon and the Tonight Show—you’re welcome:

1. Do the show WITH the people, not for the people. (Engage, don’t perform)
2. Make others look good. (He engages guests in favorable ways)
3. Don’t take yourself too seriously. (He laughs at himself)
4. Make things fun. (Everyone likes to laugh)
5. Be who you are. (Jimmy builds the show around his strengths)

MOTHER’S DAY!!

We LOVE moms. And we make a big deal about mothers — especially on Mother’s Day. If you are a mom, will be a mom, or have a mom…BE THERE SUNDAY — 8:30, 10:00, 11:30am.

Note: There are lonely, hurting, and discouraged moms all around you. Use this as an opportunity to help someone feel loved and valued. Invite them to church.

I’m going to teach a message on Sunday (from Luke 5) that will have you thinking, “How does this relate to Mother’s Day?” You’ll have to wait to the end…but you’ll see!
