This past week at our church was spectacular. We had the opportunity to hear from Dr. John Perkins and talk about reconciliation. His invitation into the full gospel was powerful as we considered what it means to have reconciliation on display the way God calls us to – as His ambassadors.

I love the message series we’re in – The Pursuit of Happiness – and how God is continuing to help us find lives full of love and joy as we follow Jesus. This weekend, I’m so excited about what God is going to do. We get to hear from Pastor Oscar Muriu, from Nairobi Chapel in Kenya. Oscar’s contagious enthusiasm for the gospel and his challenging and inspiring message is something you’re not going to want to miss. Bring your friends and family.

We’ll also be celebrating this season we have been living in of Being Fearless and all that God has done as thousands of us have served and participated, unleashing a wave of generosity throughout Orange County and the world. Come and experience the beauty of the gospel on display with us this weekend.

What an amazing season we’re experiencing together as a church – Being Fearless, unleashing generosity and doing good in the community! It was incredible last weekend to hear the stories and see how God is using your generosity and presence to bless those around us. I love the challenge and encouragement John Ortberg gave us to walk through the doors that God gives us – both big and small – to become the people He wants us to be. I’m praying that you are taking advantage of every opportunity this week to hear Him and follow His leading, boldly and courageously.

There are still so many opportunities for us to Be Fearless! The desire is that every single one of us would be able to engage with God’s heart for who He wants us to be individually and collectively as His Church. Be Fearless! It’s been overwhelming to experience the response and hear the stories of how you (our church) are leaning into unleashing generosity in amazing ways as we do good and be generous in our community!

This week, staff and volunteers are already distributing checks to many of the organizations we are partnering with here in OC. In addition, we’re preparing to unleash hundreds of volunteers on the Boys & Girls Clubs and food packing project with Kids Around the World this Saturday! I can’t wait to show to you some pictures this weekend and share a few of the stories of how God is using every one of us to write a beautiful story. And don’t worry…I know that many of you were out of town and missed the opportunity to participate. This weekend, you’ll have the opportunity to jump in because our desire is that every person would be able to give and serve as part of the story that God wants to write in our community and around the world.

Also, this weekend, I’m so excited for us to get to hear from our friend, John Ortberg. John is an amazing communicator…author…pastor…teacher, and he has an encouraging and challenging message I believe God wants us to hear. It’s a great weekend to invite your family and friends to come and hear, and more importantly, to see the gospel on display through our church. Looking forward to being with you this weekend!
