With Fall Kick Off in full swing, we hope you have been enjoying your experience on Sunday mornings. Many of our ministries have launched: Rooted, Men, Women and Youth. Community Nights will be kicking off in two weeks; it’s going to be a great time, so please plan on jumping in. This week, we’ll be finishing up our fall series, then starting a new series on Romans. We’ll be looking at ways to continue bringing life change into our lives.

Now that summer is fully over, I want to say “way to go!” Summer involves a lot of things for many of us and especially for churches. Oftentimes, summer means lower attendance and a decline in giving. Well, our numbers grew in the summer, and our giving exceeded our budget. You have continued to be incredibly generous to the Church and obedient to God. Thank you! You are making a difference. Ministry is happening because of your generosity and God’s blessing. God is using you in amazing ways!

Blessings,

Jeff

Last week at church was a beautiful picture of what the Church is all about. It was a group of people who were saying I can use some encouragement, and a group of people coming around them to pray. It was a great response to what God is doing in the hearts of us, and what He is doing in the heart of our church. We will continue in Fall Kick Off this week. My idea of peppermint sticks in lemons has been shelved for some simpler fun snacks. It was our well-meaning attempt to bring “the fair” into our patio experience. Either way, we’ll have some fun, family-friendly activities this weekend.

If last week’s message of encouragement felt like it hit home, this week will probably feel similar. We’ll talk about what to do when we feel like we’re losing control in life and want to throw our hands up in the air and give up. The good news is God has something to say about that, and it may or may not surprise you.

A couple things to remember: Community Nights kick off in a of couple weeks; Men’s Breakfast is this Saturday and Mops and Women of Passion are kicking off as well. There is a lot going on, so I encourage you to find a way to get plugged in. I believe God will bless you in a mighty way.

Great doing life and ministry with you,

Jeff

As we jump into fall, we all struggle with the same thing, getting out of our summer schedule and into a new fall rhythm. It’s our hope Sunday morning will become a regular part of your fall schedule.

Last Sunday evening, we held an elder meeting with all of the elders and our wives. It was so much fun and I had the blessing of sharing all of the highlights from the summer. And here is the best part – we have just as many exciting things planned for fall. There is never a dull moment during Fall Kick Off! From last week’s fun Beach Boys band to our Ministry Fair this week, we’ll be highlighting all of the great ministry opportunities here at Ocean Hills. I think you’re really going to like our fair-themed patio this weekend because that means…cotton candy, peppermint lemons, shaved ice, deep-fried Twinkies and Student Ministry’s famous “Jitter Juice.” We’ll be looking at the Book of Acts and finding out what it means to be a community of people following Jesus.

We’ll also be talking about Community Nights, which will be kicking off on Tuesday, October 13. This will be a great time to build community, while at the same time learning how to be in healthy relationships. We’ll hear from great speakers including Roger and Becky Tirabassi, Dr. Buddy Mendez, and Dr. Monte Pries. It will be an encouraging and fun six-week series.

I look forward to seeing you on Sunday at 9 or 11a.

Blessings,
Jeff

With the temperature hitting 100 degrees and football season starting, you might say this is a great week for fans. I am a big fan of this Sunday, because it’s Fall Kick Off! We will have a tasty barbecue and a fun “Beach Boys” band, along with games and fun things for the kids. Fall Kick Off is the time when we start to share all of the ways to get connected here at Mariners Ocean Hills. As always in the fall, Rooted will be a big focus for us, because we believe it’s the best way to find community,  purpose and a deeper relationship God.

We know that God has something great for each of us and this Sunday we will look at what that is. We’ll be looking at the gospels and I’m confident you will see that God has invited you into something exciting. Also, I trust that even though it has been hot, you have had time to fish (you will only get that if you were here last weekend). Remember, you have people in your life who need a relationship with Jesus and are hoping to find meaningful community. This is a great weekend to extend an invitation.

Blessings to you and see you Sunday.
