Global Crisis Call to Prayer and Response

Outreach-EngagingAGlobalMovt

Mariners Church is committed to engaging in issues of disaster facing our world today. Our desire has always been to come alongside indigenous churches and organizations that are on the ground responding to these global crisis, most of whom we have partnered with over the years. Today, we are faced with myriad of catastrophic issues that are of epic magnitude. These global issues are at times beyond our wildest comprehension and somewhat overwhelming but they do underscore our need for a great God who is in control even when we are not. Therefore as a church we are called to fully rely and depend on God and the best way to do that is to pray. We believe we should and we could do other things in addition to prayer but nothing should be done without prayer. It’s not our last but first resort. This will help guide our prayer efforts and response to these crisis.

What we’re asking you to pray for…

A Note From Christian Mungai

MessageFrom-IR-Christian

Let my heart be broken by the things that break the heart of God is a quote which is very pertinent to the present times as we are gripped with the turmoil and the crisis in our world today. From Ebola in West Africa, to the crisis in the Middle East, Ferguson, Missouri, the Nigerian abductions, the Malaysian airliners, attacks in my home country of Kenya, among many others. Our hearts are overwhelmed and maybe even fear-filled in all the uncertainty. We ask, “God where are You?” I know I have been perturbed to the point where I have become undone in His presence. I recognize my deep desire for Him as He is the One who can fill the void in my soul. Therefore, I call us to prayer to take ground from the enemy through prayer. We are about to launch a prayer movement for the global church. We will also respond with compassion and love in action by supporting our partners on the ground who are in the front lines of these crises. Our global church partners are currently involved in medical, evangelism, relief for refugees and advocacy in response to what is happening in the world.

I implore you to pray like never before and give, so we can respond accordingly. Our souls are too finite to comprehend an infinite God, so let’s worship Him in Spirit and in truth as all other ground is sinking sand.

Safe Families

Outreach-ProvidingHope

Safe Families finds volunteer families in the community to open their homes up to children for a short time, whose families are in a crisis. They act as a bridge to connect the Body of Christ to those who we are called to love and serve, namely the widows and orphans who live among us. Find out more at our upcoming info meeting.
