HSM Mid-Week

Join us weekly in the Chapel for our High School ministry midweek. Invite friends and come hang out. Our midweek has games, a time for worship, a message by one of our leaders, and small groups to discuss God’s word. Are you looking to dive deeper in your faith? Are you looking for a community of young people who also want to grow in a personal way to a personal God? Then our HSM Midweek is it! See you there!

Wednesdays, 7-8:30p

A Note From Caleb

This week is a special week. Sunday is St Patrick’s Day, and we’re using it as an excuse to have a pancake breakfast after both services. Join us! Invite friends! We’ll have 1) an airbrush tattoo artist for kids, and 2) an artist painting on the patio. And did I mention pancakes, sausages, and other deliciousness? It will be an awesome weekend!

A couple other things to make sure are on your calendars:
Good Friday Prayer Experience: at our offices, 3/29, 11am-2pm; 4-7pm (This will be powerful! Bring a co-worker during lunch or at day’s end)
Easter service times: 8:30am, 10am, 11:30am

I also just want to say that I appreciate ALL OF YOU who read this message and allow me the privilege to occupy a few moments of your day. Our church is making a difference in our community, and it’s people like you who are bringing love, hope, and encouragement to others around you. Thank you for being you. Thank you for being part of our church… and for loving our community along with us!

A Note From Kyle

Do ever wonder about the most dangerous place in the Bible? Or why it’s the most dangerous place? We are a culture fascinated with danger and living on the edge. This weekend, Kenton will be back to answer these questions and the implications they have on our lives today. Bring a friend with you – maybe someone who is a thrill-seeker??

Last week I had several conversations with many of you wresting with what it looks like to completely trust a God of abundance, to forgive sacrificially, and to love one another, your neighbor, or even enemies and strangers with a fearless, generous love. I am humbled to see how God is using our Fearless Generosity series to remind us of who He is, how He sees us as His children, and how He is transforming us into the people He created us to be – fearless followers of Jesus that are changing the world.

peace…

A Note From Jeff

Last weekend as we talked about the true meaning of hospitality — genuine affection for the stranger — we got to see our own community live it out in powerful ways. We looked at what it might mean to move toward those people on the outside, in the margins, the forgotten, with love and not fear. I talked with a handful of you who were taking the idea of true hospitality seriously… and you (like me) were feeling like God might be leading us to a glorious sense of discomfort amid those who aren’t like us.

We heard Susan’s story of learning to care for the homeless in Santa Ana. She talked about what it means not merely to provide a sandwich, but to listen to, to know the names of, and share her life with the homeless. No longer are they a faceless “them,” instead, “they” have become “us.” As a church, we were invited to join Susan and the Homeless Outreach Team in caring for the homeless. A number of us took home hygiene kits and helped pack sack lunches. What a great weekend to be together and to see God at work among us.

I’m looking forward to this weekend, as Doug Fields will lead us in the next segment of our Fearless Generosity series. I can’t wait to see you all at Mariners Mission Viejo.

Grace and Peace,

Jeff
