At the end of December, 2004, a 9.0 magnitude earthquake in the Indian Ocean created a tsunami that devastated much of south Asia. Sri Lanka was one of the hardest hit countries, with whole villages being destroyed and over 36,000 people killed.
In response, Mariners Church sent a team of people to see
if and how we could help. The team partnered with Pastor Adrian DeVisser and his church, Kithu Sevana, to bring aid and restoration to this devastated country. Over the years, as we support and learn from one another, this partnership between Mariners and Kithu Sevana is strong today, working together to build disciples for God’s Kingdom.
