2012
We dubbed 2012 The Year of Adventure
because of the exciting ways God was moving.
Kenton and Laurie took their first sabbatical and enjoyed an extended time of study, prayer, rest and reconnection. Meanwhile, our Irvine, Huntington Beach and Mission Viejo
campuses were growing and reaching their communities
through Rooted and Life Groups. We also planted Salt Church in
Laguna Beach and watched this dedicated group of people serve their community and develop disciples of Jesus.
Mariners Outreach celebrated its 25th anniversary of serving the marginalized both locally and around the
world, pointing them to the unfailing love of Jesus. Laurie Beshore released her book, Love Without Walls, chronicling the history of Mariners Outreach and its learnings. Next-generation church leaders from all over the country have been able to learn from the victories and mistakes in building a world-changing outreach ministry.
In this year alone, over 12,500 people served locally and globally and we took over 700 people on Faith Adventures to Haiti, Kenya, Uganda and Mexico. God was on the move.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.
