In 1971, Mariners welcomed gifted teacher Joe Aldrich as Senior Pastor. He taught church members the impact of lifestyle evangelism. He pointed people to Jesus through telling stories of faith, love and service.

Joe talked about sharing our stories of faith in terms people could relate to. He taught that it was more about loving people as Jesus loves us than convincing them of a doctrinal principle. He believed, “A Christian becomes the good news as Christ ministers through his
servant heart.”
