Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.
Romans 12:2 (NLT)

Kenton’s cardboard testimony of life-change
Through our partnership with Mavuno Church in Nairobi, we learned of their discipleship experience called Mizizi (Swahili for “roots”). We saw the way God was changing their church and their city through it and we wondered what would happen if we brought Mizizi to Mariners. Influenced by Mizizi, other churches around the world and our staff, we created Rooted and introduced it to our church family. Our hope was for people to deepen their faith in their heavenly Father and their understanding of what it looks like to follow Jesus in courageous ways.
God has amazed us with how He has used Rooted to transform lives, heal relationships, open people’s hearts toward serving and generosity, and help people understand their purpose. It has truly changed the people
of Mariners, drawing them into a deeper relationship with their heavenly Father and helping them grow deep roots of faith and knowledge of Him.
Since 2010, over 20,000 people have graduated from Rooted and it is currently being used in 34 churches across the country. It’s been translated into eight languages and is in use all over the world, helping people connect with God, their church and their purpose.
